Dhoni Meets Humbler Friend from His Days as TT!

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, former cricket captain, who, having reached heights in his career has still not forgotten where he came from. Helping his home team, the Jharkhand cricket team win the Vijay Hazare trophy, Dhoni came to Kolkata. After the win, he even celebrated with the team and later took a train trip with them.

Among the less known details of his life is that he once worked at the Kharagpur station as a junior TT and frequented a chai stall who he soon became friends with him. So when Dhoni was in Kolkata recently, the tea stall owner, Thomas, along with several other of Dhoni’s friends from his days as a TTE went to meet the esteemed cricketer.

Dhoni also received them wholeheartedly and made sure that they were all well taken care of. On meeting Thomas, Dhoni put aside his fame and hugged him and later went out for dinner with him.
