Battle Begins: Bollywood Rushes to Copy Dhurandhar Formula

A new trend appears to be emerging in Bollywood after the success of Dhurandhar. Industry insiders suggest that studios are now trying to replicate its formula. This has sparked talk of a possible “biopic battle” in the coming months.

Reports indicate that a major studio has secured biopic rights to the life of Major Mohit Sharma. The rights were reportedly obtained directly from his family. This development has triggered fresh activity behind the scenes in the industry.

Interestingly, Dhurandhar was earlier believed to be inspired by Major Mohit Sharma’s life. There were also reports of legal concerns raised by his family. However, these claims were later denied by the film’s team.

Now, the real life story of Major Mohit Sharma could soon be adapted for the big screen. At the same time, discussions within Bollywood suggest a broader trend. Studios may be focusing more on recreating proven success patterns.

Instead of exploring unique storytelling styles, some filmmakers are reportedly analysing Dhurandhar as a fixed formula. This includes its structure, themes, and presentation. The approach has raised concerns about creative originality in upcoming projects.

Earlier reports also suggested that Salman Khan and director Apoorva Lakhia were considering changes to their film Maatrubhumi, earlier titled Battle of Galwan. These changes were believed to be influenced by Dhurandhar’s performance.

The situation has sparked debate about the future of Bollywood storytelling. Questions are being raised about over reliance on patriotism, chapter style narration, and intense themes. Some feel this could limit creative diversity in cinema.

There is no official confirmation yet on which studio holds the rights to Major Mohit Sharma’s story. However, industry buzz indicates that another spy thriller may soon take shape, possibly following a similar narrative approach.
