Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster film “Dhurandhar” is set for a re-release in theatres with a revised version. The updated cut will arrive from January 1, 2026. The decision follows official directives issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
As part of the changes, two words have been muted and one dialogue has been modified. One of the muted words is “Baloch”. These edits were carried out to ensure compliance with the ministry’s instructions.
“Dhurandhar” originally hit theatres on December 5, 2025. Despite the revisions, the film has already achieved major commercial success. It crossed the ₹1000 crore mark worldwide and emerged as the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2025.
However, the film also faced setbacks overseas. “Dhurandhar” was banned in six Gulf countries. This reportedly resulted in an estimated box office loss of $10 million.
The revised version is now being rolled out across theatres. Exhibitors have been asked to download the new Digital Cinema Package. It remains to be seen whether the updated cut will add further strength to the film’s box office performance.
