Disclaimer Asked for RGV’s Trailer

It is very unlikely that the Central Board of Film Certification would ask for a disclaimer for the trailer or teaser of any film. Asking disclaimers when there is some controversial content is very logical. However, the CBFC asked a disclaimer for Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s political movie ‘Sarkar 3’.

The first two installments of the ‘Sarkar’ franchise are loosely based on the real life character of Maharashtra’s politician Balasaheb Thackeray. Though the makers didn’t make any claim regarding this similarity, there is a striking similarity between the real life persona and the reel life Subhash Nagre portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan. ‘Sarkar’ franchise belongs to our RGV.

So, to avoid any controversy as the third installment is coming after the death of Balasaheb Thackeray, the CBFC officials want to be extra careful and hence the disclaimer. Sometimes, such things might instigate big controversy and hence a pre-meditated course of action is quite necessary.
