Ranveer’s Disaster Director Comeback with Zombie Comedy?

Director Divyang Thakkar is in talks to make a zombie comedy with Vedang Raina for Applause Entertainment. You remember him for Jayeshbhai Jordaar, which failed both with audiences and at the box office. That history already raises doubts about this project.

A zombie comedy is not easy to pull off, especially in Bollywood. You need sharp timing, steady writing, and a clear tone from start to end. Divyang Thakkar struggled with these basics earlier, which explains why viewers feel uneasy about his return.

In Jayeshbhai Jordaar, the message came through but the humour fell flat. Only a few scenes worked. You saw flashes of comic sense, but not enough control to carry an entire film on laughs.

Now he shifts from social drama to horror-comedy. That leap is risky. You expect stronger grip this time, especially in writing and pacing, because this genre gives no room for loose storytelling or half-baked jokes.

Vedang Raina brings freshness to the film. He also carries pressure. You are watching him build his career, and a demanding genre like this will test his comic timing, screen presence, and physical performance in ways his past roles never did.

Applause Entertainment backs bold ideas, and you know that helps. But support alone cannot fix weak direction. If the film works, it will be because the script lands and the humour holds. Nothing else can save it.
