Drishyam 3 Faces Its First Weekday Test
Drishyam: The Conclusion had a fantastic start at the box office, and it was bigger than what everyone predicted. But the numbers have dipped a little bit by the fifth day, on Tuesday.
As of now, online reports say the film has already crossed Rs. 219 crores in India and Rs. 340 crores worldwide. But the Rs. 500 crore mark is still far away. Considering that there is no big film arriving for a long time, the crime thriller has a golden opportunity to touch that number.
Trade experts addressed the condition on Tuesday, saying that it continued on Wednesday, as the early morning shows did not open big and the advances were not good compared to the other four days. Notably, a little drop was witnessed in Monday, with collections of Rs. 21 crores. Most of them stated that it is not a matter of concern since drops are expected by the fourth and fifth day.
On the other hand, netizens had a different opinion on social media. They said that the drop should not have happened at all, considering that the film has become a topic of discussion everywhere for a lot of reasons, and even family audiences can watch it due to the engaging content.
Online users still appreciated the makers for not using the offer route to attract audiences, compared to other films that have taken that path when their films fail to do the expected business. However, a few people believe that since the discounted Tuesday offer at multiplexes were not available, audiences refused to watch the film and are possibly waiting for the ticket prices to decrease.
Ajay Devgn’s fans reacted by saying that the dip should not be a big topic to discuss because the sequel is now already the highest-grossing film of the actor’s career. They said that although the numbers are falling a little short of expectations, they will rise in the upcoming weekend.
With a lot of doubts rising everywhere, trade experts are waiting to see if Drishyam: The Conclusion will be able to touch the mark of Rs. 500 crores in the upcoming days.
