Trailer Talk: Salman’s Battle of Galwan in Danger?

The trailer for Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming war drama 120 Bahadur has created a strong buzz. The film portrays the 1962 Battle of Rezang La during the Sino-Indian War, showing the courage of 120 soldiers who fought at 17,000 feet in Ladakh.

Directed by Razneesh “Razy” Ghai and produced by Excel Entertainment and Trigger Happy Studios, the movie tells the story of Charlie Company, 13 Kumaon Regiment, who faced over 3,000 Chinese troops. Only six soldiers survived to share their brave tale.

Farhan Akhtar plays Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, the commanding officer awarded India’s highest military honour. His leadership and the line “Hum Peeche Nahi Hatenge” form the emotional core of the film.

The cast also includes Raashi Khanna as Shaitan Bhati’s wife, along with Ankit Siwach, Vivan Bhatena, Eijaz Khan, and Ajinkya Deo as fellow soldiers. Amitabh Bachchan opens the trailer with a powerful voice-over, narrating how China betrayed India after years of friendly ties.

The 2-minute 48-second trailer shows intense battle scenes, snowy landscapes, and hand-to-hand combat, all backed by stirring dialogue and emotion. Fans are thrilled to see Farhan return to the war genre after Lakshya (2004), which earned him critical praise.

However, controversy has already surfaced. The Ahir Yadav community has objected to the title and demanded it be changed to 120 Veer Ahir to honour the soldiers’ identity.

Set for a theatrical release on November 21, 2025, 120 Bahadur marks Farhan Akhtar’s comeback to acting after four years.

The trailer’s release has also drawn comparisons with Salman Khan’s upcoming Battle of Galwan, another Indo-China war drama based on the 2020 clash. Trade experts say the similar storylines might affect Salman’s film’s box-office performance.

Despite the clash, audiences look forward to both films for their emotional storytelling and patriotic themes.
