Government gives hope for controversial movie

Things related to the censor of the film Udta Punjab has reached to such a level that the film will now get a ‘special’ special screening for a government appointed censor board revamp committee. Shyam Benegal will head this.

As we all know the film Udta Punjab deals with the drug issue in the state. Director Abhishek Chaubey has made the film as realistically as possible with right depiction of the drug scene in the state. This presentation with usage of profane filled language has not gone down well with the existing censor board and it suggested huge number of cuts that potentially damages the film’s output.

Anurag Kashyap who produces the film lashed out at the chief of board for such ridiculous work. His voice generated huge support which has now resulted in this special censoring process. The outcome of the screening will be known later today.
