Horror Franchise Revived: Much Needed or Outdated?

In the current age of horror-comedies and international level horror films that rule the hearts of Indian cinema lovers, the Bhatt brothers and their horror films have lost their charm. Undeniably the 90s to 2010s era saw a range of their films with franchises like Raazi, 1920s, Haunted, Hate Story etc.

Now the audiences seek well executed horror and they are bored of lousy jumpscares. Even the Maddock’s horror-comedy universe has diverted them from the old timer approach towards horror.

Added sarcasm and layered social commentary alongside horror amuses this generation of cinema lovers. Amidst all this Mahesh Bhatt, Vikram Bhatt and Anand Pandit have announced Haunted 3D to be released on 26 September 2025.

Netizens reacted to the announcement stating that this time they hope for something better than a romantic album and sultry scenes. To keep up with their expectations the makers will really have bring something authentic and ahead of times.
