Is MeToo Movement Affecting Bollywood Biggest Movie?

The MeToo Movement had made heads turn in the west, and when it was started in India, many expected a similar level of impact. Although that hasn’t happened, the immediate effect seems to have fallen on the biggest Bollywood movie of the year, Thugs Of Hindostan.

The Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan starrer always had huge hype, and it went up several notches with the theatrical trailer. However, since then there has been nothing happening on the movie front. Incidentally, the MeToo movement too started at the same time and the stars of TOH were asked to respond repeatedly about the issue.

It looks like the unit to avoid controversy do not have any press interaction. There is a total mum from the cast and crew. A song promo from the movie came after a long gap, but none are even aware of it, as it came unannounced. Will this unexpected happening completely derail TOH’s momentum? Let’s wait and watch.
