On the other hand, Aanand L Rai has prepared the script for Tanu Weds Manu 3. The third instalment of the popular franchise is expected to go on floors early next year. However, the official release dates of both films are yet to be revealed.

Queen became a sleeper hit in 2013 despite a slow start at the box office. The Tanu Weds Manu franchise has also been a commercial success. Industry insiders believe the sequels can work, though some netizens doubt Kangana’s ability to attract audiences today.

Social media users point out that Kangana has been part of several controversies, which they feel has reduced interest in her films. After Tanu Weds Manu 2, her only major success was Manikarnika, released five years later.

In recent years, Kangana has not been able to deliver films with strong content. For now, hopes are pinned on Queen 2 and Tanu Weds Manu 3. However, trade experts suggest that the films must be made on a controlled budget to avoid risks.

Only time will tell if these sequels live up to expectations and help Kangana reclaim her box office presence
