King of Remakes? Fans Say “Give Something Original”

Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday’s Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri was earlier scheduled for Valentine’s Day 2026. The release has now been moved up to Christmas this year, giving fans an early festive treat from Dharma Productions.

While some fans are happy about the earlier release, others are far from impressed. Many feel Kartik keeps returning to the same formula remakes and sequelsa instead of offering something original.

Fans say his filmography is packed with recycled ideas. They note that Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and 3 continue the franchise that began with Akshay Kumar, and rumours suggest Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4 is already being planned.

They also point out that Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety included a remake of Bom Diggy, and Pati Patni Aur Woh reused tracks like Akhiyon Se Goli Maare. Luka Chuppi too leaned heavily on remix songs rather than fresh music.

According to them, Satyaprem Ki Katha featured the remake of Pasoori, while Shehzada reworked Salman Khan’s Character Dheela. Dhamaka was the official remake of the Korean film The Terror Live, and Freddy drew inspiration from Fida.

Fans also believe his upcoming Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri will feature a new version of Saat Samundar Paar. They expect Aashiqui 3 to follow the same pattern, continuing the legacy of the first two films.

These fans argue that Kartik rarely delivers anything original and keeps serving old content in new packaging. Yet, he continues to land big films, with his PR team pushing the image of him as Bollywood’s next superstar.

Many fans now want change. They hope Kartik Aaryan’s upcoming projects finally bring something fresh and original for audiences who have seen too many remakes already.
