Dhurandhar Wave: Recent Disaster Re-release in January

Kapil Sharma’s romance comedy Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2 is preparing for a re-release in January 2026. The makers stated that its initial run suffered due to limited screen availability and poor box office performance.

Released on 12 December 2025, Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2 has become one of the rare films to return to theaters within a month of its original release. The film is produced by Abbas-Mustan, Ganesh Jain, and Ratan Jain.

This sequel is the spiritual follow-up to Kapil’s 2015 romance comedy Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon. However, nearly a decade after the first film, the sequel failed to create pre-release buzz and could not attract a strong audience.

Producer Ratan Jain confirmed that the re-release will happen in January. The film struggled because of competition from Dhurandhar and Avatar: Fire and Ash, which dominated screens across India.

The new release date is yet to be announced, but the makers confirmed it will be revealed soon. Trade analysts noted that the film has not recovered even half of its Rs 35 crore budget, making this move a final attempt to earn profits.

Social media users criticised the decision and questioned the need for the re-release. Many argued that if the film could not gain traction the first time, it is unlikely to improve the second time.

Upcoming films like Ikkis, Rajasaab, and Border 2 may also affect screen allocation in January. This could limit show timings for Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2 once again and affect audience turnout.

Some filmgoers suggested that the makers should release the film directly on OTT instead of risking further losses. They believe this approach could fetch a better response and make financial sense.

Only time will tell if the re-release is a smart business move or a desperate step before the audience forgets the film completely. The results will be clear once the film returns to cinema halls in January 2026.
