Reinvention? Tiger Turns Villain for Lakshya & Janhvi

Lakshya’s upcoming film Lag Jaa Gale begins shooting this weekend in Mumbai under Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. If following Bollywood trade closely, this project already reads like a turning point, not just for Lakshya but also for the director and co-stars involved.

Directed by Raj Mehta, known for Jug Jugg Jeeyo, this action revenge drama sees him step away from family entertainers. If familiar with his earlier work, this shift stands out. It also marks Lakshya’s first full-scale action film after gaining attention with The Baads of Bollywood.

For Lakshya, this film represents a serious test in a new genre backed by a major studio. If box office numbers matter, this one holds weight. A strong performance here changes his positioning in the industry almost overnight.

Tiger Shroff steps in as the antagonist, which itself draws attention. Known mainly for action hero roles, this negative part is a rare move. With recent box office setbacks, this film gives him a shot at a reset through reinvention.

Janhvi Kapoor joins as the female lead at a stage where results matter more than visibility. Recent films like Param Sundari and Sunny Sanskari failed commercially. Her role here aims to add emotion to a story driven heavily by action and revenge.

The project was originally set to be directed by Karan Johar before handing over the reins to Raj Mehta. This change places added pressure on Mehta to deliver beyond expectations and prove his range outside the family drama space.

The team has planned a 20-day shooting schedule, though details about the extended cast and release date remain under wraps. For now, everything rides on production updates and early buzz from the sets.

For Lakshya, Tiger Shroff, and Janhvi Kapoor, this film is more than a release. It is about momentum, survival, and timing. Success rewrites careers. Failure tightens the spotlight even further.
