Why Shraddha This Time & Not Rashmika? Will It Backfire?

The latest buzz suggests that Maddock is considering Shraddha Kapoor to play the leading lady in Vicky Kaushal starrer Mahavatar.

While Shraddha is a popular face, many people feel that this casting choice is starting to look a bit repetitive. Since she is already the main face of the Stree universe, seeing her in another big Maddock film might feel like more of the same for the audience.

It appears that the production house is currently focusing heavily on cost cutting. Instead of exploring new options or bringing in fresh talent from outside, they are choosing heroines from their own existing cinematic universes. This strategy clearly helps them keep the budget in control, but it also limits the variety for the viewers. By hiring the same set of actors, Maddock seems to be playing it very safe with their casting decisions lately.

There is also news that Maddock is staying away from Rashmika Mandanna this time. Her acting did not impress much in the epic historical film Chhaava. Because of this negative feedback, they are looking for someone else to lead Mahavatar.

However, going by the Parashurama story, there is no such strong female role. So how Maddock will accommodate Shraddha in the story is what many people doubt. Some also question whether she is being cast just for glam appeal. If that’s the case it may backfire big time.
