“We Are Not Dumb to Pay for 40 Cr for a Story”

The MS Dhoni biopic featuring well-known actor Sushant Singh Rajput is all that has been in talks lately. The film, which focuses on the life of successful Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni is all set to hit the silver screen on 30th September this year, has also been the centre of a lot of speculations. One such report alleged that the famous cricketer was paid a hefty sum of Rs 40 crores for the movie to be made about him.

It was said that the makers of ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ had to buy the rights to adapt Dhoni’s story, specifically the video footage of World Cup 2011, for 40 crores. But as of recently, director Neeraj Pandey squashed the rumours regarding the payment.

Pandey laughed at the very idea of it and said that no studio “would be dumb enough to pay such a big amount” for a biopic. There was no comment regarding the World cup footage.
