Vishal Bharadwaj’s multistarrer film O Romeo appears to be heading toward a disappointing box office result. The film’s storytelling has not connected with audiences. Many viewers feel the emotional depth expected from the director is missing.
The film opened to a dull response and mostly negative reviews. The makers attempted to improve theatre occupancy with “Buy One Get One” ticket offers. However, the strategy did not significantly increase footfalls.
Shahid Kapoor and Tripti Dimrii had strong expectations for the project. The film was seen as an important release for both actors. Unfortunately, audience response has remained weak throughout its run.
Early box office collections reflect the struggle. The film earned 7.50cr on Friday and showed a slight rise to 11cr on Saturday. Collections dropped again to 8.25cr on Sunday.
Despite the BOGO offer on Monday, the film collected only 4.50cr. The total now stands at approximately 31.25cr nett. Trade observers say the film is finding it difficult to sustain momentum.
O Romeo is expected to finish its first week with around 40cr plus collections. Its lifetime total is predicted to be around 60 to 65cr. These numbers indicate a disappointing theatrical run.
For Shahid Kapoor, this adds to recent box office struggles after Jersey (2022). Earlier, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024) performed at an average level. O Romeo now joins the list of underperforming releases.
