The film is based on Lt. Gen. K.J.S. ‘Tiny’ Dhillon’s book Operation Sindoor: The Untold Story of India’s Deep Strikes Inside Pakistan. It draws inspiration from India’s 2025 counter-strike following the Pahalgam incident in Jammu and Kashmir.

The makers describe the film as more than just a war story. It aims to present themes of courage, military strategy, and national response rather than pure spectacle.

This project marks Vivek Agnihotri’s return after his strong criticism of Bollywood in March 2025. He had earlier described the industry as struggling and declining.

However, the announcement has triggered backlash on social media. Many users feel Bollywood is repeatedly focusing on patriotic themes instead of exploring new ideas.
