Fans have been eagerly waiting to see Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan reunite. Their upcoming film Bhooth Bangla has created strong buzz. At the same time, rumours started linking it to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.
In a recent interview, Priyadarshan dismissed these claims. He called them false and said the idea is purely imaginary. According to him, Bhooth Bangla is not connected to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in any way.
He explained that Bhool Bhulaiyaa was a psychological thriller. In contrast, Bhooth Bangla is a horror comedy with a fresh concept. He also clarified that he was never approached for the sequel made by T-Series.
Priyadarshan shared that Bhooth Bangla focuses on people’s belief in ghosts. He has added a scientific angle using quantum physics. This gives the film a different tone compared to his earlier works.
The director admitted that he avoids making simple comedies now. He does not want to repeat himself. He also revealed that Akshay Kumar encouraged him to take up this project.
The film features a strong supporting cast including Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav. It is currently scheduled to release in theatres on April 10. The team is preparing for a wide release.
There are also rumours that the release might shift to April 17. This is said to be for securing more screens. However, there is no official confirmation yet from the makers.
