Drishyam 3 And Haiwaan Remake Debate
Drishyam: The Conclusion has been a big box-office success. Trade experts can’t predict exactly where it will stop in terms of collections.
Amid the ongoing wave of the film among the audience, netizens have now started praising the production team. The reason is that the producers did not lie or make any false claims before the movie arrived in theatres. Some even stated that this is why the film has attracted audiences.
Notably, the makers clarified before release that Drishyam: The Conclusion will not be a direct remake of Mohanlal’s Drishyam 3, and they were bringing a new story and screenplay. Furthermore, they even confirmed that this installment will end the franchise. The claims turned out to be true.
People who have watched the film on the big screen referred to a particular sequence where they initially believed that the makers might have cheated them. There is a wedding track in Ajay Devgns film similar to Mohanlal’s film. Audiences expected the moment to copy what happened in the original, but everything turned out to be different.
On the other hand, a few even clarified that the beginning of the film itself confirmed that it was not a remake. Apart from this, the writing of the characters was also different, and the situations that everyone was going through were new.
The movie’s success also led to criticism towards some other producers who have done remakes. The major target was Haiwaan, where netizens alleged that producers were making claims that the film was not a remake when it was actually copied frame by frame from the original, Oppam.
Trade experts also advised the actors and producers to do remakes only if they can bring something unique. They said that remakes should not be done if the same story is not expected to work for the Hindi audience, and in such cases, either the project should be shelved or a new screenplay and story should be created.
Meanwhile, Drishyam: The Conclusion has already started breaking box office records, and now everyone is waiting to see whether it can touch the mark of Rs. 500 crores in India by the second week.
