Teaser Talk: Can’t Start Laughing?

Viewers seem done with the kind of comedy and chaos the Fukrey franchise delivered in the late 2010s. The early reactions to the Rahu Ketu trailer show the same sentiment. Many felt the humour looked dated and lacked spark.

Varun Sharma and Pulkit Samrat, known as the core of the Fukrey franchise, return with another quirky setup in Rahu Ketu. Their on-screen bromance and comic rhythm drive the narrative once again. The film leans on their familiar style of entertainment.

The duo appear as modern versions of Rahu and Ketu, setting off a chain of astrology-based chaos mixed with folklore elements. The concept aims for cosmic comedy, but the reception suggests that the impact is not landing as expected.

Users pointed out that the teaser lacked the punch that once excited fans of Fukrey. Several viewers felt the mythological comedy looked weak and the execution did not match the film’s quirky premise. The reactions were blunt and direct.

Varun Sharma faced criticism for repeating his Fukrey tone without variation. Pulkit Samrat also faced Trollers for what they called an underwhelming performance. The early chatter gives the film a rough start on the perception front.

Rahu Ketu is planned for a January 2026 release, and the long gap gives space for changes, but the current response shows a struggle. For now, viewers doubt whether the Fukrey duo can recreate the earlier charm at the box office.
