Trivikram AK47 and Venky Kudumula Itlu Arjuna Release Clash
After missing its October 9 release, Venkatesh and Trivikram’s Aadarsha Kutumbam AK47 was reportedly heading towards an October 30 release. Industry buzz suggests distributors have been informed about premieres on October 29, followed by a theatrical release the next day. However, the makers have not officially confirmed the date.
If the plan goes ahead, it could put Venky Kudumula’s Itlu Arjuna in a difficult position.
Interestingly, Itlu Arjuna postponed its release by nearly a month to give Adarsha Kutumbam enough space during the October 9 release window. Producer Venky Kudumula reportedly took the decision out of respect for Trivikram. Directed by Mahesh Uppala and produced under the What Next Entertainments banner, the film features music by Thaman and is now scheduled for October 29.
If Trivikram now targets the same date, it would raise serious questions about professional ethics. Itlu Arjuna moved away from October 9 to accommodate his film. Releasing AK47 on October 29 would put the smaller film in a difficult position despite that gesture.
Industry sources suggest an influential person has intervened behind the scenes and that AK47 could change its release date again to avoid a clash with Itlu Arjuna. However, this remains unconfirmed, and the final plan is still awaited.
The bigger issue is the lack of clarity in release planning. When one film postpones its release to accommodate another, the makers of the first film should be mindful of the sacrifice made by the other team. Another last-minute change could put Itlu Arjuna’s business at risk.
Now, all eyes are on whether AK47 changes its plan again or sticks to October 30. The industry will also be watching to see whether the consideration shown to Trivikram is returned in kind.
