Rajamouli Opens Up on Why No Bollywood Star

Wouldn’t having at least one Bollywood star taken the film to unexpected level? A Bollywood star would have made a lot of difference to the movie’s business across the country. But Rajamouli chose to work with regional actors like Prabhas, Rana, Tamanna and Anushka. Why?

As an answer to this query, the director says that no Bollywood star would have dedicated two years totally for his movie believing that a regional film would go to the level of beating top Hindi cinemas even. He questions if any Bollywood star would have restrained from committing to other movies when this movie is in making for two years?

He is sure that it wasn’t possible. Hence the choice of regional stars who rose to become national stars after ‘Baahubali, The Beginning’. This shows his immense respect for South stars who believed him and trusted him to give 2 years of bulk dates without agreeing any other film.
