Technicians and Workers Instructed to Boycott Ranveer Singh?

In a major escalation within Bollywood, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has officially issued a strict non-cooperation directive against superstar Ranveer Singh. The industry body announced the definitive ban during a high-profile press conference held in Mumbai today.

The order instructs all 32 affiliated craft unions, including technicians, spot boys, and lightmen, to completely halt collaborations with the actor across India. This extreme institutional measure follows a severe, months-long dispute involving the actor’s unceremonious departure from Excel Entertainment’s highly anticipated thriller Don 3.

The regulatory crisis stems from a formal complaint filed back in April by filmmaker Farhan Akhtar and co-producer Ritesh Sidhwani. According to FWICE officials, Ranveer Singh abruptly walked out of the project just three weeks before the production unit was scheduled to fly out for international schedules.

The producers presented audited accounts proving that over ₹45 crore had already been spent on location bookings, crew logistics, and extensive pre-production work over a three-year period. Excel Entertainment is now aggressively demanding full financial reimbursement for these losses as damages from the actor.

The worker federation decided to take a hard stance after Ranveer Singh reportedly skipped three consecutive formal notices requesting him to present his side of the story. While the actor’s team responded via email disputing FWICE’s jurisdiction over corporate contract disputes, the union asserted that no superstar is bigger than the industry’s economic ecosystem.

The non-cooperation notice is effective immediately and extends to all film departments. FWICE officials clarified that the ban will remain tightly in place until the actor steps forward to meet personally and resolve the ₹45 crore financial dispute with the producers.
