Mukesh Khanna recently announced his return to the iconic role of Shaktiman, which left the internet in doubt whether this is a good idea. And it wasn’t helped by the fact that the senior actor rejected Ranveer Singh to take the role.
In a press conference, Mukesh Khanna, dressed as Shaktiman, responded to a reporter’s criticism and said that Ranveer sat at his office for two and a half hours and begged the Shaktiman actor to get the role.
However, according to the 66-year-old actor, today’s generation of heroes doesn’t have the look and attitude that will do justice to the character.
This follows Mukesh Khanna getting trolled for reprising his role as Shaktiman in his 60s. While the actor has a close relationship with the Superhero moniker, the netizens don’t feel the same.
People believe this is a failed attempt at evoking nostalgia and is just going to ruin their childhood superhero. He should’ve let it go and passed on the mantle to Ranveer Singh who could’ve been the fresh face for a new generation.
Only time will tell if Mukesh Khanna can thrash all these doubts or turn them into reality. By the look of things, he definitely has an uphill task ahead of him.
