The 2012 release Cocktail written by Imtiaz Ali and directed by Homi Adjania has a cult following with 2010s youth. Now Cocktail 2 a comic-romance love triangle is being undertaken to be made for the current generation with new stars namely Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon as of now.
The hunt for the second female lead has been going on and Rashmika Mandanna has been the most likely decision for the same. Dinesh Vijan is producing the film with the direction of Homi Adjania and writing by Luv Ranjan.
It is expected to release mid 2026 and fans feel that it is nothing short of a cash grab by using the fanbase of Cocktail. Although Dinesh Vijan seems confident with the music and storyline of the film, fans still don’t want to spoil the appeal of the classic film.
Currently, Shahid Kapoor is busy with Vishal Bhardwaj’s next set to release in December 2025. Rashmika fans would surely be excited if she lands an iconic role like Deepika did in Cocktail as it led to a career changing trajectory for her.
