BO Madness: No Stars, No PR, Blockbuster on Day 1?

Saiyaara, which marks the debut of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has been receiving a positive response from the audience. The shows for the first day have witnessed huge crowds going to the theatres to watch the film.

The latest updates state that Saiyaara is expected to record an opening day number of somewhere between Rs. 23-25 crores. The numbers might turn out to be better than the expected results and it will be dependent on the on-spot bookings.

The film, directed by Mohit Suri, managed to sell almost 1.95 lakh tickets in the main national chains, including PVR Inox and Cinepolis. It was a few inches away from beating Chhaava, which recorded a sale of 2.23 lakh tickets.

Notably, this is something that has never happened in the history of Bollywood for almost 25 years, specifically for two new faces. The response has been much better than other big films released this year, including Sikandar, Jaat, Sitaare Zameen Par, Raid 2, Sky Force, and Kesari Chapter 2.

Saiyaara started to create headlines and a lot of buzz with its first teaser. Although the makers did not release any single before the teaser, the little glimpses of the music featured in the teaser received a positive response from the audience.

The trailer equally received a lot of love, as it had a lot of intensity and the chemistry between the lead pair was appreciated. Youth audiences are specifically getting attracted since it has the vibes of Aashiqui 2.

Now the weekend collection will decide whether the film will have a long run at the box office. Notably, three films are releasing next week, including Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar 2.

In case the weekend numbers turn out to be something unexpected, there is a possibility that SOS 2 and every other film that is running in all the theatres across India might get ignored. Let’s wait for more updates on the box office numbers in the upcoming days.
