Top director’s next ‘Rani Padmavati’

After the award winning film ‘Bajirao Mastani’ for best direction, film maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has moved on to his next and the subject he chose for his next is equally fascinating as his last release.

He is going to make an anti-hero film based on the passionate destructive romance of Sultan Alauddin Khilji with Rani Padmini aka Padmavathi of Mewar. The film maker already presented a staged version of this story in an opera in Paris in 2008.

The film maker is passionate about the love story and the lead of the film is anti-heroic with his obsession for the queen’s beauty and intelligence. She was said to be the beauty with brains and there are many stories regarding the same in popular literature. Bhansali even announced the probable release in December 2017.
