Sanju Collection: No Non-Baahubali

When ‘Sanju‘ opened to terrific reviews and critical acclaim by the virtue of the star director Raju Hirani and the protagonist Ranbir Kapoor’s outstanding performance as the controversial Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt, Bollywood trade experts expected it to make at least a non-Baahubali record if not beat Rajamouli’s epic blockbuster.

Leave about the Baahubali record, the film is nowhere near the non-Baahubali record that is in the name of Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’. With the lifetime collections of Rs. 202 crores, ‘Sanju’ may be inching towards breaking the record of Aamir Khan’s second highest non-Baahubali record that lies with ‘pk’ (Rs. 340 crores).

The movie opened excellently but couldn’t keep up the same momentum. One has to wait and see if Raju Hirani’s latest directorial beats Aamir Khan’s movie (also directed by Raju Hirani) along with Salman Khan’s ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ that has earned Rs. 339 crores. Nevertheless, ‘Sanju’ is the highest opener among Ranbir Kapoor’s movies and will be highest grosser, even.
