Should Makers Postpone Dhurandhar2 for OTT Penetration?

As Dhurandhar continues its strong box office run, discussions have picked up around the timing of its second part. Many believe an early release may not work in favour of the makers, especially while the first film still enjoys steady theatrical traction.

A social media user pointed out that Dhurandhar is expected to arrive on OTT by next month. Given the current response, the film could continue its theatrical run longer. An early digital release may help expand reach but needs time to settle with casual viewers.

Based on this, some users suggested delaying the next film to December 2026. This would allow the first part to reach a wider audience through OTT and television. The extended window may help build stronger recall and long term interest.

Others disagreed and backed a March 2026 release. They argued that Dhurandhar has already created solid buzz, with audiences turning up even on weekdays. The momentum, they feel, supports an earlier theatrical return.

Supporters of the March plan also noted that an Eid release could boost footfalls. While December 2026 may see major releases like Avengers Doomsday, March 19, 2026 is being viewed as a safer option. It remains unclear whether Dhurandhar Part 2 will benefit from this timing.
