Star Heroine Exposes Hero’s Insecure GF

Raveena Tandon, the popular face of Bollywood in the ’90s, recently narrated an incident about her career life that illustrates the volatile relationships in the film industry; it has had its share of ups and downs and some unanticipated surprises.

In a candid interview, she spoke about the fact that jealousy and insecurity led her to be replaced in some films, since the girlfriend of one of her co-stars demanded that he withdraw her from various projects because she was doing great opposite him on screen.

Tandon’s story is laced with a bit of humour and disbelief as she describes how this insecure girlfriend not only made her co-star replace her but also stretched her influence to another hero, making him choose someone else over Tandon for another film.

She remembered the tragedy of the situation when, years later, the same co-star sought her out after his relationship ended, asking her to step in for a film that his ex-girlfriend had abandoned. Tandon’s answer was both witty and reflective as she reminded him of the same natures that caused them to break up earlier.

This episode sheds light not only on the private challenges of the glitz of cinema but also on Tandon’s determination and her belief in destiny. As she makes her presence felt in the film industry, she is acutely aware of the realities that usually lie beneath the glamour and glory of fame, “The voice had changed; it was lower-pitched and smoky.”
