Box Office Roars Back: Rs. 1150 Crores & Counting!

Summer 2025 has managed to bring some good news for Bollywood in terms of profits. The box office is finally getting some relief, even though a few films have turned out to be average grossers in the end.

While Saiyaara is doing good business at the box office, the numbers accumulated by Jaat, Sitaare Zameen Par, Metro In Dino, Maa, Kesari Chapter 2, Housefull 5, and Raid 2 have summed up to collections of almost Rs. 1,150 crores.

Although Housefull 5 could not record good numbers as per expectations, it managed to collect almost Rs. 165 crores. The same can be said for Sitaare Zameen Par. Jaat and Kesari 2 were able to gross almost Rs. 80 crores, followed by Metro In Dino at Rs. 52 crores and Maa at Rs. 35 crores.

Hollywood films also contributed almost Rs. 350 crores with films that attracted audiences due to their entertaining content. Superman is already running in theatres, and before this, there was Jurassic World: Rebirth, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, F1, and Final Destination: Bloodlines.

Although the number of hits is less for this year, it won’t be wrong to say that audiences came to visit theatres by their wish without checking the public opinion. Certain films also managed to leave a positive impression on family audiences.

With War 2 releasing next month, expectations are sky-high, considering that it is a part of a big brand, YRF Spy Universe. Trade experts have made predictions of more than Rs. 600 crores at the box office.

Saiyaara, which is also produced by Yash Raj Films, is expected to collect almost Rs. 375-425 crores by the end of its theatrical run. In case War 2 records collections as per expectations, Bollywood will witness the arrival of two blockbusters back-to-back in two months.

More films are scheduled to arrive by the end of 2025. Let’s wait and see if new records will be made by any of them at the time of release.
