Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan worked together in the 1993 romantic thriller Darr. In the film, Sunny played the lead hero, while SRK portrayed the obsessive villain, Rahul, who was infatuated with Kiran, played by Juhi Chawla.
The film is considered one of SRK’s best performances. Despite playing a negative role, the superstar received immense praise for his acting.
It reportedly upset Sunny that a relatively new TV actor like Shah Rukh Khan ended up overshadowing him in the film. Following this, Sunny had sworn not to work with either Yash Raj Films or Shah Rukh Khan again.
However, with the recent re-release of Darr and the buzz surrounding his upcoming film Jaat, Sunny Deol has now expressed an interest in collaborating with SRK once more.
In a recent interview, the actor hinted that he would love to work with Shah Rukh again. He said it would be nice because that was a different time, and now things have changed.
He added that earlier, directors had complete control over a film, but today, that level of control is lacking, and stories are often not crafted in a way that justifies the image and persona of the actors.
On the work front, Sunny Deol will next be seen in Jaat, which is set to release in theatres on April 10, 2025.
