Comparing Kartik to Sushant Singh Rajput is Insulting?

Bollywood discussions often trigger heated social media debates, and this time, users dragged Sushant Singh Rajput and Kartik Aaryan into a comparison over who is the better actor. You can see the debate gaining traction across platforms.

Many users rejected the comparison outright and called it insulting to link Sushant with Kartik. They argued that dragging SSR into discussions around Kartik diminishes Sushant’s legacy and talent.

A post on social media platform X went viral, stating that SSR’s depth and craft stand far above Kartik’s popularity, which users claimed was driven mainly by aggressive PR rather than performance.

The comparison traces back to July 2025, when singer Amaal Mallik said in an interview that Bollywood insiders were sidelining Kartik the same way they once treated SSR.

The discussion resurfaced after Kartik’s romantic comedy Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri failed at the box office. The flop triggered heavy backlash against the actor on social media.

To defend Kartik, some fans revived the outsider narrative and claimed that actors like Kartik and SSR faced similar targeting despite public opposition to nepotism. You could see this argument repeated across threads.

Others pushed back strongly and warned against forced comparisons. Users stressed that while both were outsiders, their journeys, abilities, and contributions were not the same.

Several users pointed out that unlike Kartik, SSR was an intellectual actor who brought depth to roles in films like Kai Po Che! and MS Dhoni.

Many labelled Kartik an average actor and noted that his rise began largely with the monologue-driven success of Pyaar Ka Punchnama, rather than consistently strong performances.

Some users accused Kartik’s PR team of invoking SSR’s name and struggles to gain sympathy following recent flops and personal rumours surrounding the actor.

The conversation eventually shifted toward protecting Sushant’s legacy. Users reminded others that not every criticised outsider becomes the next SSR, and some fame cycles are driven more by hype than substance.
