‘Varsham’ shots in natural rain due to drought!

Bollywood, a staunch believer of divine interventions, loves to make it rain to create a romantic setting. However, for the upcoming film ‘Baaghi’, a loose remake of the highly successful Telugu movie ‘Varsham’, fake rains are just a thing of imagination.

Featuring well-known actors Shraddha Kapoor and Tiger Shroff, the filming cast and crew decided to go easy on the planet and wait for the actual rains instead of wasting water in false rains. The filmmakers Sabbir Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala were no strangers to the drought situation in Maharashtra and hence thought to take it in their own hands to help in whatever way they could.

Therefore, all the rain sequences in the film, including a song called ‘Cham Cham’, were shot in natural rain in order to save water. Most of the shooting was done in Kerala where the monsoon had already set in, with the rains giving off a refreshingly natural look.
