With only a few days to go until its June 6 release, Housefull 5 is stealing the spotlight—but the buzz that usually surrounds a franchise
this big seems to be missing.
Following a lot of controversy, the movie is finally scheduled to be released, but the promotional run has been oddly quiet, and a
last-minute advertising campaign isn’t getting the response it was hoping for.
The film’s producer, Sajid Nadiadwala, recently revealed the film’s most exciting features—its two different versions—each ending in a
different way.
Sajid explained the reason behind this bold choice, saying, “Because I wanted Housefull 5 to be a thriller comedy, having multiple endings
was the best way to do it.”
On paper, the concept seems exciting and is a relatively new approach from Bollywood; it may well entice viewers to return to the theaters
for a second watch.
Despite the efforts to add intriguing twists, many questions still loom ahead of the film’s release.
The delayed trailer release is underwhelming, the music hasn’t clicked, and the once-reliable cast no longer holds the same appeal.
Fans and critics alike can feel the lack of excitement around the film’s release, with some calling the alternate endings a gimmick to
revive a faltering franchise.
Although the different endings are a fun addition, it’s no help if the rest of the film fails to deliver the laughter and chaos it promised.
If the film meets audience expectations, only then will they willingly sit through it once again just to watch the alternate ending.
Otherwise, what the makers were hoping to achieve was just in vain.
As everybody awaits this experimental murder-mystery-comedy, which has yet to show any signs of box office success, if it works, Housefull 5 might just redefine Bollywood’s comedy genre.
