Varun Dhawan is set to play a charming sanskari role with a twist in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari very soon. The film brings back the iconic trio behind Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania – Karan Johar, Shashank Khaitan, and Varun Dhawan.
The other stars in this film include, Manish Paul, Rohit Saraf and Sanya Malhotra. The film is set to be a typical Shashank Khaitan directorial that features a romantic-comedy spanning around family drama, mix and match and other madness.
The first look of the same has been released and it has started spreading over social media. The film is scheduled for a release on Gandhi Jayanti weekend this year, 2 October.
To add to the makers worries it is going to clash with Kantara: Chapter 1. It is a highly anticipated Kannada project and SSKTK will have to battle it out hard in marketing race to give it a good competition.
As of now, in the first look Varun aka Sunny is seen donning a classic floral shirt with a lot of Gold accessories and funky goggles. Fans are expecting that he will revive one of his comic avatars but it has also invited much skepticism.
Many are sick of Varun’s repeated comic overacting in his films. They have seen his work in films like October and Badlapur, and expect him to pick some good storylines rather than repeating formulaic comedies.
Yet on the other hand, considering Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania like films also received a good response, fans are hoping for this to be a different type of project. Otherwise he will be in a deep distress at the box office, his last release, Baby John, was also a debacle and he aims to revive himself this time.
