D2: National Award Winner Replaces Kartik Aaryan

National Award-winning actor Vikrant Massey has officially confirmed that he will replace Kartik Aaryan in Dharma Productions’ much-delayed Dostana 2. The film, produced by Karan Johar, was earlier announced with Kartik Aaryan, Lakshya, and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles.

Speculation about Kartik’s exit had been circulating for months due to reported differences between him and Karan Johar. Vikrant ended the suspense in a recent interview, saying, “I’m doing Dostana 2. It’s my first Dharma movie.” He also confirmed Lakshya’s involvement but chose not to reveal who the lead actress will be.

Massey, fresh off the success of 12th Fail, expressed excitement about stepping into the Dharma world. The project is expected to feature overseas shoots, glamorous settings, and a new side of the actor that audiences haven’t seen before.

The official announcement regarding the female lead is awaited. With Vikrant joining Lakshya, attention now shifts to how Karan Johar will reframe the film and whether Dostana 2 can replicate the cult status of the original.
