The upcoming action-thriller Monkey Man will star Dev Patel, who is well-known for his work in films including Slumdog Millionaire, Lion, The Man Who Knew Infinity, and Hotel Mumbai. At the SXSW world premiere, the actor—who also wrote the script and directed the film—was showered with praise.
During the screening, Dev broke down in tears and tried to hold back his tears as he thanked everyone. The film centres on a man’s desire for revenge against dishonest officials who killed his mother.

Dev persevered and starred in the movie despite experiencing difficulties during the Covid-19 pandemic, including a heart attack and a foot injury. Sharlto Copley, Pitobash, Vipin Sharma, Sikandar Kher, Sobhita Dhulipala, Ashwini Kalsekar, Aditi Kalkunthe, and Makarand Deshpande have important roles in the movie as well.
