House Of The Dragons Star To Lead Supergirl

Milly Alcock, who plays the young Rhaenyra Targaryen in the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon, has landed the role of Supergirl in the DC Universe. The Australian actress will portray Kara Zor-El, the cousin of Superman, in the film Superman: Legacy and the spin-off Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.

The news was confirmed by James Gunn, the director and writer of Superman: Legacy, who praised Alcock’s talent and versatility. “She embodies Kara as envisioned by Tom King, Bilquis Evely and Ana Nogueira,” he wrote on Instagram, referring to the creators of the comic book series that inspired the Supergirl movie.

Alcock will join a star-studded cast that includes David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, and Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl. The films are expected to explore the contrast between Superman, who grew up on Earth with loving parents, and Supergirl, who witnessed the destruction of Krypton and its people.

Alcock’s casting as Supergirl has generated a lot of excitement and curiosity among the fans of the DC Universe, who are eager to see how she will bring the character to life on the big screen.
