Huge ! Oldboy Getting Remade By Same Director

Park Chan-wook created English-language television series based on his critically acclaimed 2003 film Oldboy. The show centres on Oh Dae-su, a guy who has spent 15 years in prison and has been given five days to track down his kidnapper.

After Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002) and Sympathy for Lady Vengeance (2005), Garon Tsuchiya’s Oldboy is the second book in Park’s Vengeance trilogy.

Numerous awards were bestowed upon the movie, including the Grand Prix at Cannes in 2004 the first ever for a South Korean film.

The film’s renowned battle scenes, visceral style, and unadulterated emotional impact will all be present in the series. The project is overseen by executives Tara Joshi and Courtney Mock, and the agreement was negotiated by Bryan Weiser.

Park is well-known for producing Snowpiercer and directing films including Stoker (2013), Thirs (2009), The Handmaiden (2016), and Decision to Leave (2022). Recently, he directed and produced The Sympathiser, which is on HBO right now. Later this year, Netflix’s period action thriller Uprising is scheduled to debut.
