Plan Announced For House Of The Dragon’s Future

A tweet by Culture Crave confirmed that HBO’s hit series House of the Dragon, the prequel to Game of Thrones, has been renewed for a third and fourth season. The show follows the history of the Targaryen dynasty in Westeros, leading up to the Dance of Dragons, the Targaryen civil war.

It is expected that House Of The Dragon will debut in August 21st and have ten episodes in its first season. The show has an ensemble cast including Paddy Considine, Olivia Cooke, Matt Smith, Emma D’arcy, and Rhys Ifans. Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik are the showrunners, who also directed several episodes of Game Of Thrones.

Martin who also serves as an executive producer of this show has also written in his blog that he is very content with the first season, dubbing it as dark, powerful, visceral, disturbing, stunning to look at and peopled with complex and very human characters. In addition, he informed that he shared a two-day meeting with the team to discuss plans for the third and fourth seasons that aim to tell the rest of the story contained in his novel.

Martin also claimed that he is still working on the sixth book of his A song of Ice and Fire series, “The Winds of Winter”, which fans have been awaiting for over a decade. He stated that he intends to conclude some of the viewpoint characters’ storylines soon.
