“Oppenheimer,” the period drama directed and produced by Christopher Nolan, centres on the life of scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer and his contribution to the development of the atomic bomb.
Nolan has already received his last salary. Following its July 19 release, the movie brought in $958 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing Best Picture winner since “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” in 2004.
Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr., who had supporting roles, received awards as part of director Christopher Nolan’s final salary for the movie, which won a total of seven Oscars.
With a $100 million budget, Universal produced the Oscar-winning film that took home seven awards. This weekend, the movie will be rereleased in 1,000 theatres with the goal of breaking the $1 billion mark and starting a bonus for the director.
