Veteran writer succumbs to cancer

Yesterday when villain turned character artist Ahuti Prasad passed away, another senior character artist Chalapathi Rao expressed his fear that this year shouldn’t turn like the previous year 2014 when Telugu Film Industry saw as many as 10 celebrities passing away from legends like ANR, Anjali Devi, K.Balachandar, Balu Mahendra to promising talents like Uday Kiran, Chakri etc.

New year beginning, cancer has taken away veteran actor Ahuti Prasad and the very next day we hear that even another veteran technician, revered writer Ganesh Patro passed away on Monday in a Chennai Hospital succumbing to cancer. Ganesh Patro who was born in 1945, made his Tollywood entry as a writer in 1979 ans since then worked with many legendary actors and directors.

His most memorable movies happen to be Balachandar’s films like ‘Maro Charitra’, ‘Idhi Katha Kaadu’ and ‘Rudraveena’ (starring Chranjeevi). Till recently he was writing for films and his last film was multi-starrer ‘Seetamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’. The writer had been undergoing treatment for cancer for quite a while and breathed his last on Monday. Tollywood mourns the loss of this revered writer and expresses condolences on his demise.
