20 films combined can’t beat PK

Hindi film industry popularly referred to as Bollywood is going through horrific time at the box office for the past few months. It all started with Happy New Year that released for Diwali last year. After the release of the SRK starrer only PK has managed to become a blockbuster.

Coming to PK, as one would know, it is the highest grossing Bollywood movie of all time with over 300 Cr of collections. So here is an interesting stat from the Bollywood trade that is doing the rounds online currently as a joke that is attracting everyone’s attention. More than 20 films have released post PK and the combined grosses of these films are not yet anywhere near PK’s gross.

It just highlights how poor the films are performing in Hindi. It’s not like big films haven’t released, they have, but audiences have out rightly rejected those films. Let’s see which will be the first film to win true mandate of the audience.
