A massive buzz is building around Allu Arjun’s upcoming film with Atlee. The project was officially announced with a stylish concept video. It hinted at a massy, pan-India spectacle.
Naturally, many assumed that Atlee’s regular collaborator Anirudh would be handling the music. But to everyone’s surprise, Anirudh isn’t on board — at least not for now.
Instead, the announcement video’s music was composed by a newcomer — Sai Abhyankar. His name is now trending across film circles. While many believed it was a one-off, insiders say Sai might just be the full-time composer for this big-ticket film.
At just 21, Sai has already made waves on YouTube. His viral independent songs like “Katchi Sera” (200M+ views) and “Aasha Kooda” (245M+ views) have captured massive attention.
Even without a theatrical release to his name, he’s already landed multiple big projects. This is a phenomenon rarely seen in Indian cinema.
And music runs in his veins. He’s the son of renowned playback singers Tippu and Harini. Their voices dominated South Indian cinema in the 2000s. Sai has also worked with Anirudh’s team on projects like Coolie and Devara.
What’s even more impressive is the growing list of top-tier films tied to his name. Apart from the Allu Arjun–Atlee project, he’s reportedly composing for Surya 45 (after A.R. Rahman opted out).
He’s also onboard for BENZ (starring Raghava Lawrence), Pradeep Ranganathan 4 under Mythri Movie Makers, and Simbu 49.
For someone with no official film album yet, this is a staggering breakout.
Sai Abhyankar’s rise feels like a perfect storm. It’s a mix of social media virality, a musical legacy, and raw talent. However, the real challenge begins now — converting hype into lasting impact.
