Acharya Gets into Unexpected Controversy

Last week, the Maoists in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur ambushed and attacked the CRPF personnel leading to the death of 23 jawans. They also abducted one more jawan who is still missing. People are very angry about this incident and two Telugu films have come under attack in that anguish.

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Acharya and Rana Daggubati’s Virataparvam are the two films in which the protagonists play the radicals. The teams already released posters of the actor in those getups. A section of social media is angry at the filmmakers for glorifying Naxalism. They are particularly serious about Chiranjeevi

“What is that Chiranjeevi trying to convey to the society being the senior-most actor in the industry?” they angrily ask on social media. A few of the Right-wingers even claim that the films were funded by Naxals and their sympathizers for their propaganda.

As of now, Virataparvam is announced for the April 30th release while Acharya for May 13th.
