Popular southern actress Manjula Vijayakumar passed away due to jaundice at SRMC hospital in Chennai. She was 59. Manjula, who once was a popular face in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada cinema, had starred in over 100 films in her three-decade long career. She made her cinematic debut in Tamil romantic-drama “Shanti Nilayam (1969)”, in which she played the teenage daughter to then actor Gemini Ganeshan. Some of her best films include “Rickshawkaran”, “Ulagam Sutrum Valiban” “Mayadaari Malligaadu” and “Alluri Seetarama Raju”.
She is survived by her husband Vijayakumar, popular Tamil actor and three daughters Vanitha, Preetha and Sridevi.
