When everyone thought that Ram Charan’s Naayak fame, actress Amala Paul got engaged to director Vijay, the new couple ran into some unexpected controversy. As it so happened, the engagement has been called invalid by the Church. It followed that a section of people from the Christian community started accusing the new couple of violating the basic rules of a Christian engagement. Concerned for his daughter, Aamala Paul’s father stepped in to save the new couple from the growing controversy saying that his daughter did not have any engagement ceremony in the Church. In contrast, several photos of Amala Paul exchanging rings with Vijay had recently flashed across the media. But Amala Pual’s father refuted all these claims and said that the couple had only gone to the Church to offer prayers the other day and displayed to the media the rings they had exchanged earlier.
Amala Paul and Vijay’s wedding is scheduled to take place in a traditional Chettiyar ceremony, in Chennai, today.
