Akhil to Vishnu: Deva Katta’s ‘Prasthanam’

Equations in film industry change overnight. One can never guess when a pauper turns a king and vice versa. At the end of the day, success counts big way. Logic and intelligent thought process mark the heavily loaded dialogues Deva Katta scripts for his films. Just one film ‘Prasthanam’ made him big in Tollywwod leaving everyone in awe for his indepth knowledge and understanding.

Then he got a chance to make a film with Naga Chaitanya. ‘Autonagar Surya’ didn’t have a smooth run till its release and after release too it didn’t live upto the expectations because of some mistakes made by Deva. Despite not missing his logic & deeper understanding of things, Deva Katta had to taste a bitter pill at the box-office.

Between these two films, Deva Katta was one of the film makers who was considered to do a movie with Akhil Akkineni. Like many film makers, it is said that he too prepared a story for the Akkinen star kid. Even Nag’s body language implicitly said that Deva was in the race. But once the verdict on ANR was out, he automatically was out of the race.

Since then Deva’s plans on his next project aren’t much known. Latest we hear that Deva is going to do a movie for 24 Frames Factory banner, the home production house of Manchu Vishnu. This movie is going to be a remake of Tamil movie ‘Arima Nambi’ which had Venkat Prabhu, Priya Anand and JD Chakravarthy in lead roles. Manchu Vishnu is going to play Vikram Prabhu and the rest remains to be disclosed. Presently Deva is busy with the scripting reveal the sources.
